Family members ran the show at the Refugee Athletes Support program trials held at the Lornah Kiplagat Sports Academy in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The Yafunga family led by their father Arnold Yafunga were significant, winning titles in the judo category in a one day event that brought together three disciplines that had track, Judo and Taekwondo as part of their training for the Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal and 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Competing in the senior category, Arnold led his sons, Christine and Arno Yafunga to win three medals in different categories with Ippon points.
In the under 66kgs category, cadet Christne edged out Robert Jackson to claim the title before Arno beating Hiteng Ajal in the 55kgs battle for trophies.
In the senior category of under 81kgs, Arnold did not get the opponent just like the under 90kgs when Samuel Adelio lacked the opponent.
In other events, Odingo carmilo won the title without competing after failing to meet the worthy opponent in the junior under 60kgs while Ephraim Mwololo beat cadet Lupa Gabriel.
In the under 60kgs, Kevin Ndahaboinyama won the title without entering the court.
