Former Africa 10,000m champion Jemal Yimer and world half marathon medalist Yalemzerf Yeshualaw won the Antrim Coast half marathon held yesterday in Netherlands with course records.
Yimer won the title in 59:00 by setting a new record breaking Geoffrey kamworor’s record ahead of Alfred Ngeno and Shadrack Kimining.
In women, Yehualaw won with a course record ahead of Letesenbet Gidey, and Kenya’s Beatrice Chepkemoi Mutai settled in third place in a time of 1:06.37.
Irelands National Champion, Fionnuala Ross and England’s Kate Drew crossed the finish line in fourth and fifth place in 1:13.59 and 1:14.29 (pb) respectively
