Zambian Michael Chuma stuns swing into Muthaiga Open victory

Zambian international Michael Chuma stunned Kenyans to win the third edition of Muthaiga Open, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships series at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club yesterday.

The three day tournament that teed off on Friday, ended on Sunday March 16th in the 54 hole stroke play championships.

Making his debut at Muthaiga Open, Chuma won the title when he fired six under par 207 ahead of Elvis Muigua and team Kenya Captain John Lejirma.

Coming from Nkana Golf club, Chuma started off with three over 74, followed by a three under par 68 and concluded the tournament with a six under par 65 to seal the title.

Kiambu’s Muigua had a good start firing identical one under par 70 in the three days for a 210 while Lejirma from Kenya Railways conclude the podium with -2 211.
