Reigning Discovery Kenya Cross Country winners Veneza Chebet and Emmanuel Kipkorir were the winners of today’s Sirikwa Classic Cross Country held at the Lobo Village in Kapseret, uasin Gishu County.
Chebet from Kongit High school in Mt Elgon won the women under 20 6km title in 20:28 ahead of Lonah Cherono 20:36 as defending champion Cynthia Chepkirui was third in 20:45, who is fresh from a fourth place at the World Cross Country cross country championships in Tallahassee, was relegated to the third position in yesterday’s race.
In men’s under 20, Kipkorir was crowned champion cutting the tape in 23:41, defeating Wesley Kipkoech (24:08) with Edwin Elkana, who finished eighth at the 2026 World Cross country championships finished third at Sirikwa Classic.
