It was all celebrations on 18 hole Kitale Golf Club when Aron Kitur proved to be both highly accurate and extremely perfect shooting hole in one during round one of Kenya Seed Golf Classic Golf tournament today.
As Ruth Kae and Philip Shiharsy took the lead in net and gross respectively ahead of Sunday’s second and final round.
Kitur, who fired another hole in one way back in 2013 on par 3 hole 17 hit a hole-in-one at the 7th hole, holing out from 159 yards with a 9-iron.
The handicap 4 player’s action called for a celebration despite shooting three over par 76 gross and 72 nett.
In other results, home golfer Ruth Kae will enjoy an overnight lead ahead of Sunday final. The lady captain fired 67 nett to take round one lead with 87 gross , playing handicap 20 after tying with J. Akhonya as former captain Patrice Tomno completed the podium on 68 nett.
In gross section, homeboy Philip Shiharsy played level par 73 to take the lead ahead of Eldoret professional golfer Andrew Chelogoi with a shot as Kitur came 3rd with +3.
Nandi Bears Elly Barno was in 4th with +7 tying with home player John Thuo.
