Posta Rangers will have an advantage when they play Nairobi Stima in the return leg of promotion cum promotion match on Wednesday.
The advantage comes after the Rangers won the first leg 1-2 that was played today at Karuturi Sports ground.
Today, Jockins Atudo scored the opener for the Rangers with just five minutes into the match before National Super League (NSL) top scoerer Dennis Oalo cancelled out before Francis Nambute scored the winner.
Rangers finished number 16 in the concluded Kenya Premier League (KPL) while Stima, who had less loss in the NSL was third behind winners Wazito and Kisumu All Stars who were promoted to KPL for the 2019/2020 season.
Rangers now have one foot in next season KPL campaign with the second leg tie set for Wednesday 19 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
If they do get the job done, they will have continued the tradition of topflight teams never losing to their second tier opponents in the playoffs. Thika United and Nakumatt FC are the two teams to have kept the record intact since the introduction of the two-legged tie in 2017
