Agnes Jebet Ng’etich set a new women-only 10km world record during today’s Adizero Road to World Records at the Herzogenaurach in Germany.
Olympic Games 800m champion Emmanuel wanyonyi and Nelly Chepchirchir also recorded victories.
The Kenyan runner set the new world record at 29:27 ahead of Ethiopian pair of Fentaye Belayneh (30:30) and Senayet Getachew (30:30) for second and third positions.
Her world record marks the second after setting another record during Valencia Ibercaja after winning in 28:46.
Another Kenyan win was Wanyonyi, who clocked 3:52.45 to win the one mile, missing the world record 3:43.13 held by Moroccan Hicham El Guerrouj.
American duo of Hobbs Kesler (3:54.34) and Nico Young (3:54.50) in second and third respectively.
Chepchirchir successfully defended her triumph from last year by winning the women’s mile in 4:23.99, ahead of Ethiopia’s Abera Hawi (4:26.83) and Addison Wiley (4:31.49) of the United States, who finished second and third respectively.
