Alfonce Kigen and Luiza Lega are Moscow marathon champions

Kenyan Alfonce Kibiwott Kigen and wins Moscow marathon Luiza Lega were crowned the champions of yesterday’s Moscow marathon held in Russia.

Kigen won the men’s title in 2:09:31 to set the course record that was then held by Moroccan Youness Bennar set in 2024 at 2:11:34.

He won the title ahead of Ethiopian Gebretsadik Abraha Adihana who finished second 2:10:09 with Russian Dmitry Nedelin, the 2023 Moscow Marathon winner settling for third position at 2:10:43

In women, it was all Russian affair when Luiza Lega won the title in 2:28:32 beating compatriots Marina Kovalyova (2:30:18) and Dina Aleksandrova (2:32:10).
