Allan Oyende maintains his winning ways at Kisumu Scrabble kenya tournament

Grand Master Allan Oyende maintained his winning ways by clinching the Scrabble Kenya tournament, the Kisumu Chapter today.

Competing in the last tournament before the Africa Scrabble Championships (ASC) in Freetown, Sierra Leone, the Stima Club member won 15 matches, losing 3 to clinch the title ahead of his main rival Nderitu Gitonga who managed to win 12, losing 6 for second as Richard Okechi and former chairman Richard Amuke were in third and 4th positions respectively after winning 12 and losing 6 just like Gitonga.

The Kenya One lost his first match to Okechi in game 3, then lost to Willy Mwangi at game 8 and the final loss to Amuke in match 15.

With the victory, Oyende will lead top Word warriors, the national Scrabble team to Freetown come October 23rd to 27th 2024.
