Former East, Central and Southern Africa Scrabble Championships (ECASA) champion Allan Oyende successfully retained his Scrabble Kenya title played in Eldoret today.
The Grand Master won 15 out of 18 matches to retain the title he won last year, collecting 1839 points.
“My main opponent Nderitu did not come into this tournament, which made me win easily by retaining my title. It was a tough one but not as much,” said the Scrabble Kenya series leader.
The Stima Club member managed to win back to back titles following his win at the Murang’a meeting last month after failing to retain the ECASA title that was won by Nderitu.
In the two day tournament that started off on Saturday to Sunday, attracted 18 players in the premier Division and Oyende won 15 losing three.
