Top Seed Allan Oyende recovered well from round one loss to take the lead at the ongoing Nairobi region Scrabble Kenya (SK) championships at Kasarani Sportsview Hotel.
As the first tournament in the 2019 season, the Word Warriors, the national scrabble team will be using the tournaments ahead of East, Central and Southern Africa Scrabble (ECASA) championships in Lusaka, Zambia and World English Scrabble Players Association Championships (WESPAC) in Goa, India.
Kenya one Oyende, taking advantage of home club, won eight matches losing two ahead of Sunday’s final round at the same venue.
Five seed Edgar Ondongkara has taken second position with similar wins and loss as Bernard Amuke completes top three.
