Kenyan athletic family is once again mourning the death of a retired athlete Samson Kandie.
The late Kandie, who compete and won in various road races across the world was murdered by unknown people in his leafy surbubs of Elgon View Estate in Eldoret.
Retired ayhletes led by former world 5,00m champion Benjamin Limo and the Uasin Gishu County Commander Benjamin Mwanthi led the nation in mourning the dead.
Limo was Kandie’s colleague in the Kenya Defence Forces and best man at his wedding in 2001. He described him as a man who stayed out of trouble
Mwanthi confirmed on Friday that the late Kandie had his hands and legs tied with his phone stolen.
Later, a stranger called and told the wife to look for Kandie behind the toilet where the body was discovered.
