Kenyan players maintained their superlative performance at the penultimate round of the ongoing Africa Region IV Championships at the Kigali Golf Resort and Villas in Kigali, Rwanda.
As the 5th edition of the championships comes to an end tomorrow, Sunday afternoon, Kenya has taken the lead on their way to defend the title they won last year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Led by captain John Lejirma, Michael Karanga, Elvis Muigua, and Adel Balala they recorded a comibe score of 638 points ahead of former champions Uganda on 664, as hosts Rwanda completed the podium in the six-nation championships that has attracted 24 players.
Mauritious, Seychelles and Ethiopia follow in that order with 683, 689 and 752.
In opening holes on Friday, 36 holes, fired a total of one over 145 (72, 73) followed by Karanga’s two over (70,76), Muigua’s three over 147 (75,72) and Balala +10 154 (72, 82).
