Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) were the winners of Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) football title that was played at Kibabii High School today.
MMUST won the initially aborted final last month in Taita Taveta due to hooliganism that erupted before the final hence postponing the match to today.

Bramwel Bukono scored a brace for MMUST to see off Machakos University 2-1 in a final match, with the Kakamega based university winning the final after four years of long wait.
Bukono opened the score with eight minutes into the match with his superb strike but Machakos’ striker Ignatius Mayende made it one all draw before break on 42nd minute.
On resumption, Bukoko struck the winner, giving hope for the local fans who had turned to watch the final. MMUST enjoys local fans who cheered on the local based footballers.
Despite winning the title, MMUST coach Akumu Olima said he was not satisfied with the results because he expected more score.
“We could have scored more goals if we were sharp enough at the goal mouth. But we are happy to win the trophy that we have been waiting for the last four years,” said Olima after the final match.
His opponent Francis Njeru blamed the poor state of the field and hooliganism that has cropped into University games.
“This field is in bad state though we tried our best. At the same time, we need to end hooliganism in the games. We must improve on discipline to improve the standards of our matches,” said Njeru.
