Africa athletics is mourning the death of the Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) president Hamad kalkaba Malboum.
Coming from Cameroon, the 75 year old administrator died today after serving in athletics and the Olympic movement across Africa.
Malboum’s death comes just a day after the start of the 2026 Senior Athletics champions in Accra, Ghana.
Malboum represented his nation as a sprinter who turned an administrator who also served as the first President of the Confederation of African Olympic Sports Confederations (CASOL).
