Hosts Mugumu Boys will face off with Shimba Hills during the inaugural Chapa Dimba na Safaricom finals takes place this weekend at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamegas County.
Being the biggest football extravaganza in the country,the youth football tournament enters its final touches with 15 teams-8 boys and 7 girls battle for one million shillings and a journey to meet Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama in England.
In the tournament, over 1,600 teams registered to take part in the event that kicked off in September 2017.
Mukumu who will be representing Western region will play against Shimba Hills from Coast region in the opening match with the opening ceremony taking place on Thursday morning as Kakamega High school will co-host some quarter finals with Bukhungu stadium.
In other boys’ quarter finals, North Eastern’s Al Hayat will play Gor Mahia Youth representing Nairobi region, Nyanza region’s Ombek Red Devils will play Euronuts of Central before Mwingi Junior tackle Kapenguria Heroes from Rift Valley.
Girls’ hosts Bishop Njenga (Western) will play Beijing Raiders of Nairobi, Waa Girls’ from Coast to play Tar Tar girls (Rift Valley), Nyanza’s Plateau Queens will tackle Ngakaa Talent Academy of Eastern but Limuru Starlets were lucky to be given a bye after North Eastern failed to produce girls team and are in semi final by default.
