Chepkirui and Kipkorir win Paris half marathon titles

Reigning Commonwealth Games 10,000m bronze medalist Sheila Chepkirui and Roncer Kipkorir were the winners of today’s Paris half marathon held in France.

The duo led Kenyans to dominate the race ran under cold weather, however, the Kenyans did not disappoint.

Chepkirui, who is the two time national cross country champion won the title in 66.00 ahead of Ethiopian Betelihem Yemer who was second when she clocked 66.45 with Kenyan Marion Kibor completing the podium position at 66.45 with both Yemer and Kibor running their personal bests.

In the men’s race, it was a 1-2 podium finish for Kenyan athletes where Roncer Kipkorir was victorious in 59:38.

The victory shot his personal best as well as the course record after beating Josphat Chumo to second at 59:53, which was his personal best as home runner Jimmy Gressier was third in a time of 61:29.
