Chepkoech, Cherono and Kinyamal to lead Kenyans at Shanghai/Suzhou Diamond League

World 3,000m steeplechase record holder Beatrice Chepkoech and world under 20 5,000m champion Benson Kiplangat will lead Kenyans at the Shanghai/Suzhou Diamond League set for today evening in Shanghai, China.

Chepkoech, the 2019 world 3,000m steeplechase champion will lead other Kenyans in the water and barriers like former Africa under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Fancy Cherono, reigning Commonwealth Games 3,000m champion Jackline Chepkoech.

Experienced Chepkoech is also the 2023 World 3,000m steeplechase silver medalist, two time Diamond League winner, 2018 Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist, gold and bronze at the Africa championships, Continental Cup winner as well as the 2017 World cross country mixed relay champion.

Jackline, the 2021 World under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion is also the reigning world 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist.

Kiplangat, who was the surprise winner of the 2021 World under 20 5,000m champion at Nairobi’s Kasarani stadium, and will be facing off with compatriots Ronald Kwemoi and Samwel Chebolei Masai.

Double Commonwealth Games 800m champion Wycliffe Kinyamal will be leading Alex Ngeno Kiprotich and Elias Ngeny in the two lap race.
