Cheruiyot and Komen make it to 1,500m final at Olympic Games

The reigning Olympic Games 1,500m silver medalist Timothy Cheruiyot and national 1,500m champion Brian Komen have qualified to compete at the 1,500m finals at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France set for Tuesday.

In today’s semifinals, Komen finished 4th to earn the ticket after clocking 3:32.57 in the first semifinal in a heat won by the defending champion Jakob Ingebrigsten who timed 3:32.38 followed by Josh Kerr (3:32.46) and Cole Hocker came third in 3:32.54.

Cheruiyot, the 2019 World 1500m champion finished 5th in 3:32.30 to qualify.

It was disappointing for former World Under 20 1,500m champion Reynold Cheruiyot, finished 10th in 3:35.32 to miss the ticket to finals.
