Wiseman Were storm into Paris Olympic Games hurdles semis

National 400m hurdles champion Wiseman Mukhonje Were will be the sole Kenyan at the semifinals of the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.

After making the Paris games during the 2024 Kip Keino Classic, finished 5^th at 48.58 in the 5^th heat of the first round where Rai Benjaminwon the heat after clocking 48.82 ahead of Jaheel Hyde of Jamaica (49.08), Kyron McMaster completed the podium in 49.24.

Jamaica’s Malik James-King won the race in the final round, clocking 48.21 to cross the finish line ahead of Matheus Lima who stopped the clock at 48.90. Alastair Chalmers of Great Britain completed the podium in a time of 48.98.
