Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) rugby side The Cougars and Mwamba RFC have been promoted to Kenya Cup, the Kenya’s premier rugby 15a league
And for the first time, Cougars will be playing at the Kenya Cup after dominating in the semifinals against Homeboyz.
Last month, Cougars defeated former Kenya Cup side Homeboyz 40-09 in the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championships semifinal to qualify for top league.
It was another celebration for Mwamba as they are reinstated into the Kenya Cup following their relegation in last season.
Mwamba were 41-26 winners against the Catholic University Eastern Africa side, the Catholic Monks.
Both Cougars and Mwamba were promoted to the top flight and they have to wait for the final to determine the KRU Championships winner at the final.
