Cwinyaai, Karanga and Baptiste in joint round one lead at Africa Region IV championships

Three players tied in round one of the 5th edition of Africa Region IV Golf championships today morning at the par 70  Kigali Golf Resort & Villas in Kigali, Rwanda.

Uganda’s Joseph CWinyaai, Kenya’s Michael Karanga and Seychelles Jerry Jean Baptiste  fired two under par 68 to take morning round one joint lead in the three day six nations tournament.

With 24 players competing for the title, Kenya’s quartet of captain John Lejirma (Kenya Railways), Karanga (Kiambu), Elvis Muigua (Kiambu) and Adel Balala from Nyali will be hoping to retain the title won last year in Ethiopia.

Both Karanga and Muigua were part of the team that reclaimed the title won by Uganda in 2022 when the tournament was hosted in Kenya.
