David Kirui crowned 2025 Kenya Seed Classic Golf tournament in Kitale

Nandi Bears golfer David Kirui carded a solid 140 points to be crowned the overall winner of the 2025 Kenya Seed Classic Golf tournament that came to an end yesterday at the 18 hole Kitale golf club.

Playing handicap 27, Kirui edged home players and experienced players to lift the title to drive home a heifer for the annual tournament in the two day championships that teed off on Saturday morning to Sunday evening.

Category A title went to Phabian Isese, who also carded 140 Net followed by handicap 18 player Mercy Tanui on 142 Net.

Josephine Chesang was category B winner with 142 Net beating Allan Muhando with two points to second at 144 Net.

In category C, the title was won by Ronald Omondi at 150 Net ahead of Mercy Njuguna who tied at 152 Net.

With the tournamenyt being played in two days, category A winner on Saturday was kakamega based Julius Oketch with 68 Net as category B and C were won by J. Mulu (73 Net) and Gerishom Nasibi (72 Net).

Round two winner in A was Ally Babuh (70 Net), category B going to Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi (74 Net) and C was won by Obando Ekesa (75 Net).

The club’s top golfer Philip Shiharsy was the gross winner at 153 with Everlyne Cherop taking the straightest drive title.

On hole 16, Monicah Waithera won the nearest to pin title while Shelby Bungei scooped the junior title at 145 Net and the opposite winner, the oldest title went to Ruth Kae on 156 Net.

MK Rotich was the staff winner with 150 Net followed by Edwin Rutto with 161 Net
