World Under 20 5,000m champion and upstart Brilliant Jepkorir were the winners of the Elgeyo Marakwet County cross country championships held today at Kondabilet secondary school grounds.
As little knowns Winnie Kimutai and Thanks Longosiwa claimed 6km and 8km junior women and men respectively.
With his focus to end the reign of triple world cross country champion Geoffrey Kamworor, Zakayo, the reigning world under 18 3,000m silver medalist won the 10km senior men’s race timing 29:56.7 ahead of Leon Ndiema (30:09.7 and Rofgers Kipngetich’s 30:14.1.
