The 5th edition of Eldoret City marathon will take a new route, organizers says.
In today’s statement, race organzers led by double Boston marathon champion announced that the race will be held on june 25th with a new route.
“The new course will start Highlands Inn towards Moi Girls, join Uganda road, Huruma, Kipkaren estate, Langas, join Kisumu Road back to town to end at the usual Zion mall in the CBD,” said Tanui.
He explained that the dates of the 2023 edition were moved after the late payment of the 2022 event, which happened on April 16th and that caused technical delays that caused delay in payment of cash awards.
He also urged athletes who wish to participate in the marathon to register from next week as the organization meetings will be underway.
“Registration to start next week. Meetings for organization will also start next week”
According to Tanui, his dream is to see the marathon running for many years, and he vowed to uphold the sincerity of the same.
“As a retired athlete, he’d like to see the marathon running for many years and he’ll make sure it continues. Continue training because the marathon will be here in June,”
