Reigning Africa under 18 3,000m steeplechase champion Emmanuel Lemiso Someki and Africa 3,000m steeplechase silver medalist Nicholas Kitum Losiwareng won silver and bronze on the last day of the World Athletics Under 20 Championships in Oregon, USA.
A student at the Raila Odinga educational Centre, Lemiso who won the 3,000m steeplechase at the East Africa Secondary school games in 2024 and 2025 won silver after clocking 8:32.81 as his personal best.
on the other hand, Losiwareng from Lomuke High school in West Pokot settled for bronze in 8:38.05.
Spaniard Bakir El Asri won gold at 8:28.25 with world under 20 record.
