Faith Kipyegon shutters her world record

double Olympic Games 1,500m champion Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon has today shattered her own world 1,500m record after winning the Paris Diamond League ahead of Paris Olympic Games.

The Kenyan runner set the new time of 3:49.04, lowering her own time she set last year at 3:49.11 last year at the Florence Diamond League when she lowered Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba’s time.

She beat Australian Jessica Hull to second at 3:50.83 and the Great Britain’s Laura Muir (3:53.79) for third place as Kipyegon, for the 4th time, she breaks her time.

The two-time world 1500m champion is also the mile world record holder, having clocked 4:07.64 at the Monaco Diamond League in France in July.
