Gache leads podium sweep as Africa Deaf Athletics championships starts

Martin Gache led a podium sweep in 10,000m as Africa Deaf Athletics Championships kicked off today at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Gache, who won both 5,000m and 10,000m title during national trials, won the 10,000m title in 31:15.53 led Peter Toroitich (31:31.96) and Amos Kiplagat (33:05.96) in an all Kenyan affair.

In other results, Berryl Wamira won the first 100m title in 12:87 ahead of Nigerian Omoria Assurance (13:21) denying Kenyan top finish as Ruth Awuor completed the podium in 13:58.
