Reigning world under 18 1,500m champion George Manangoi won the third gold for Kenya at the World Under 20 championships in Tampere, Finland.

At the Ratina Stadium, Manangoi followed the footsteps of his elder brother Elijah Managoi won the 1,500m race in 3:41.71 with his Kenyan compatriot Justus Soget settling for bronze medal while Norway’s clocking 3:42.14.
According to Manangoi, his finishing kick saved him and the last talk from his brother Elijah Manangoi who told him to see how the athletes will behave in the race earlier on.
The athlete said that he will dedicate the medal to his late sister Bena who passed on two weeks ago back at home.
His compatriot Soget said that his body could not react but he is happy Manangoi saved the day.
World Under-18 400m champion Mary Moraa finished fifth after clocking 52.94 while Jackline Wambui finished eighth in the 800m race clocking 2:04.61.
