Home golfer Gideon Serem swung into victory of Nandi Bears Captain Prize-Kenduiwo Mutai, today played on par 72 Nandi Bears Golf club.
Playing off handicap 19, Serem sunk 69 nett to claim the title beating Simon Miningwo and Laban Sang to second and third positions respectively.
Serem started on low of a bogey on par 5 hole one, recovered well with a par on the second hole par 4 sunk deep with a double bogey, with a total of four pars, three bogeys and two double bogeys to end the inward nine with 43 nett.
He returned in the back nine with 35 nett following his good results with two pars, 6 bogeys and singe double bogey.
He said that he was sure of taking a win following his good start,playing happily on the course.
“I played a happy man, knowing I was going to win. I enjoyed the course since I had prepared to win because for the last few days,my swing has been perfect,” said the teenager.
Handicap 28 Miningwo played 69 to finish second ahead of handicap 06 Sang to complete the podium with 72.
John Anyonyi (05) and Simon Bett (12) were 4th and 5th finishers with 73 and 74 nett respectively.
Anyonyi and Sang were on podium again to receive Longest drive men and nearest to the pin on hole 10and 18 respectively. Shellagh Ballard won the women’s longest drive as Luke Siahi and Bett were the first and second nine winners with 35 and 33.
