Harambee Stars whip Qatar to record their first international win

Harambee Stars, the national men’s football team defeated their hosts Qatar in an international friendly match played yesterday at the Al- Janoub Stadium.

The Engin Firat coached team won 2-1 where Amos Nondi scored in the added time to record viuctory in their first meeting.

Stade de Reims player Joseph Okumu opening the score in the 20th minute with his header from Kenneth Muguna’s corer for a 0-1 lead before Hassan Al haydos converted from the spot for a 1-1 draw after Erick Ouma tackled Yousuf Abdurisag in the box.

It was a celebration for Stars in the stadium that hosted some FIFA World Cup matches when Nondi scored in an empty net from captain Michael Olunga’s cross to seal the 1-2 victory.
