Homeboyz successfully defends Great Rift title

Homeboyz successfully defended the Great Rift 10-a-side rugby championships that ended today at the Nakuru Athletics Club.

The champions defeated Mwamba 28-0, becoming the first team to lift back to back title

The Deejays, who dominated the two days rugby extravaganza, led 19-0 at the interval.

Tries from Mark Wandeto, Johnston Olindi (two tries) and Leonard Mugaisi while Mohammed Omollo booted in all the conversions.

Homeboyz demolished Menengai Oil 29-5 in the semi-finals.

In the second Cup semi-finals Mwamba beat Kabras Sugar 17-12.

In Cup quarter-finals Homeboyz sent hosts Nakuru 25-5, Menengai Oilers edged out Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology 5-3.

Kenya Harlequin lost 0-19 to Mwamba as Kabras Sugar beat Kenyatta university Blak Blad 19-12 in the last eight.

Impala won the Challenge Trophy after thrashing Nondescripts 10-0. Impala crushed Strathmore Leos 21-0 and Nondies beat Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in semifinal Challenge Trophy.

Kenya Harlequin won the Plate final 15-07 against hosts Nakuru.
