I will approach Chicago marathon with respect, says Daniel Ebenyo

World half marathon silver medalist Daniel Simiu Ebenyo is optimistic that he will do well on his debut at the Chicago marathon set for October 13th in the USA.

Speaking in Eldoret after finishing second at the Uasin Gishu half marathon, Ebenyo said he will be preparing the race in a good way for better results.

Ebenyo, who has dominated in half marathons and 10km across the world, said that he will be approaching the marathon with respect in his 42km debut.

“I am so excited to compete at the Chicago marathon. I know it will be a very tough and long distance for me but I will be approaching the big marathon with big respect because I am new in the field of marathon and I want to do my best,” said Ebenyo.

He added that starting his marathon journey at the World Marathon majors (WMM) race is exciting and honour for the big stage.

“Starting my marathon at the world majors, it is exciting and an honour. It is not meant for everybody to be there but I thank the race organisers for giving me this chance and the Nike running group to start my marathon journey in Chicago. I know it has big names but my name is also very big,” he said.
