Also coming from the county is 3,000m steeplechase runner Ezekiel Kemboi, former world record holder Moses Kiptanui among others.

Athletics Kenya North Rift Public Relations Officer Boniface Tiren said the crusade will be spreading the gospel of clean sport which has been there.

“Our main agenda is to promote clean sports in the county, region and the national level. Our good running name has been tainted by a few individuals for personal gain,” said Tiren.

He added that doping has affected the country and winning in any championships is not a walk in the park due to doubts raised upon the winner even if he is she is clean.
