National captain John Lejirma won the Kisii open to go top of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series standings.
With victory, the Kenya Railways player has taken top position in the series standings with 204 points after winning Windsor Classic, and coming third both at Sigona Bowl and Muthaiga Open.
Dubbed Shabana Trophy, Lejirma fired a total of four under par 209 at the par 71 Kisii golf club with the inaugural event showcasing top-tier golf talent and celebrate the rich sporting culture in Kisii, attracting 62 elite players.
He started off with a level par 71 before an identical two under 69 in the second and third rounds.
With significant prizes made the event a highly sought-after competition on the amateur golf circuit, which is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) tournament, offering participants the chance to earn valuable ranking points, further elevating the event’s prestige and appeal.
