John Lejirma on hattrick at Ronald Marshall and Toby Gibson victory in Njoro

National team Kenya captain John Lejirma bagged a hat-trick at the Ronald Marshall & Toby Gibson Trophy golf tournament, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series at the par 72 Njoro golf club in Nakuru County.

Coming from Royal Club, Nairobi, Lejirma won 4&3 against Golf Park’s Amos Odongo during the finals in a tournament that attracted 45 talented golfers in a highly anticipated event in a fierce competition as players vie for the prestigious title in this annual showcase of golfing excellence.

The three day event that teed off on Friday May 23rd came to an end today with Lejirma adding an extra layer of excitement.

Nakuru’s John Kamais defeated Elvis Muigua from Kiambu to take the third and 4th positions respectively at 1-up.

At the semifinal, Lejirma won 3&2 against Kamais while Odongo beat Muigua in the 21st hole following all square in the normal 18 holes.

At the quarterfinals, Lejirma beat Nandi Bear’s Mutai Kenduiwo 6&5, Kamais ending Golf Park’s Josphat Rono 3&1 as Odongo squeezed kakamega’s Cedrick Kinzolo 4&3 and Muigua won against Golf Park’s Sammy Mulama 4&3.
