Joseph Okumu to miss kenya vs Namibia match

Kenya’s Joseph Okumu is set to miss the last pool match against Namibia on Tuesday at the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

With both Kenya and Namibia playing for bragging rights as missing to qualify into the AFCON finals set for next year in Morocco, the Stade de Reims defender picked an injury during yesterday’s match against Zimbabwe where they played to a 1-1 draw to hand the South Africans a ticket to Morocco.

The Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat confirmed today that Okumu suffered a groin injury and he has been sent back to his team in France for further medication.

In the absence of Michael Olunga, Okumu was the captain for Stars during the first legs when Kenya played Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Before the final pool J match on Tuesday, kenya has garnered 5 points as Namibia has 1 while Cameroon leads with 12 followed by Zimbabwe at 9.
