Kenya Simbas, the national rugby 15s men’s team defeated Uganda at their homeground to retain the Elgon Cup title played today at the Kings Park in Uganda.
Kenya won 21-05 against Cranes for an aggregate of 48-30 in the two legged match after Kenya narrowly winning as the host at 27-25 in the first leg last weekend at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.
Timothy Okwemba converted Ephraim Oduor’s first try in the 3rd minute for 7-0 before the Jerome Paarwater boys double the try with Eugene Sifuna touching down before Okwemba added the extras for 14-0 lead.
Brian Wahinya made the third try with Okwemba shooting between the posts for a 21-0 lead for Kenya into water break.
On resumption, Uganda’s Sydney Gongodyo’s unconverted try handed Kenya a 21-05 win to retain the trophy.
