Junior Starlets won bronze at the inaugural Cecafa under 17 Women Challenge that came to an end today at Njeru Technical Centre in Jinja in Uganda today.
Starlets went down 2-0 in their last match against hosts Uganda in the six team tournament played in the round robin format encounter to win gold.
Uganda goals were scored by Fauzia Najjemba and Juliet Nakulenga in the 31st and 47th minutes.
Uganda topped the table with 13 points after winning four matches and drawing one.
Merciless Tanzania thrashed Djibouti 10-0 for silver medal on 11 points from three wins and two draws while Burundi humiliated Eritrea 4-0 to move level on seven points with Kenya who emerged third due to their superior goal difference.
Eritrea were ranked fifth with four points while Djibouti finished bottom without a point after five successive losses in this tournament that was played in round-robin format.
