For the 5th time, Kabras Sugar RFC defeated former champions KCB Rugby to claim the five title in a row during Kenya Cup final match played at the Kakamega ASK Showground in Kakamega County today.
Kabras managed to come from 3-0 behind to win 14–8 KCB to seal the 5th title consecutively, marking the end of 2025/26 Kenya Cup.
The victory made Kabras the first team in 44 years to win five consecutive league crowns won by Impala RFC and Nondescripts RFC.
Kabras has now gone unbeaten in league action since 2022 and are riding a run of more than 50 matches without defeat since that loss, only KCB and Menengai Oilers.
Today, was billed as the decider after the two sides played out an inconclusive 10-10 draw in their regular-season clash.
KCB broke the deadlock through Brian Wahinya’s penalty for 3-0 lead into halftime and after water break, Kabras’ Ntabeni Dukisa converted a penalty to level matters at 3-3.
KCB extened the lead with first try by Shiasi with Brian Wahinya missing the conversion for 8-3 in favour of the visitors Dukisa’s boot again proved crucial as he drilled over another penalty to restore Kabras’ lead.
Kabras Hillary Odhiambo touched down then Dukisa calmly added the extras to stretch the advantage to 14-8 KCB.
