AFC Leopards recorded victory in today’s Kenya Premier league (KPL) matches in match 31 as title race goes on.
Sitting in second position, Leopards edged out Mara Sugar 2-1 to close the gap on leaders Gor Mahia to six points at the Nyayo National stadium.
Leopards has now amassed 58 points while Mahia has 64 point.
AFC Leopards were in a slump after two consecutive defeats, including a narrow 1-0 loss to rivals Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji Derby and a heavy 3-0 loss to Kenya Police while Mara Sugar entered the match with significant momentum, having won 3 of their last 4 games, highlighted by 1-0 victories over Tusker FC and Kariobangi Sharks.
At the Gusii stadium, Shabana played to a barren draw against former champions Ulinzi Stars.
