Kenya Lionesses in back to back losses at Los Angeles Challenger series playoffs

Kenya Lionesses, the national women;s rugby 7s team lost two of their opening matches at the ongoing Los Angeles 7s in the HSBC Challenger Series play-offs in the USA.

After falling to 33-14 to Spain in the opening fixture, Kenya went ahead to lose to Brazil 28-10 in the second match in pool B encounter.

Coached by Dennis Mwanja, the Lionesses will now be aiming for a stronger finish when they face Colombia in their final Pool A match scheduled for 8:44am.

Following recent changes introduced by World Rugby to the HSBC SVNS Circuit, the top four teams from the playoffs will secure promotion to the 2026 HSBC SVNS Division 2, making the next fixture crucial for Kenya’s hopes in the knockout rounds.
