Team Kenya retained the Africa Region IV golf championships title that came to an end today at the Kigali Resort and Villas golf club in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series leader Michael Karanga anchored the team to succeesfully retain the title won last year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
With the three days of combat action, Kenya managed to win the title three times in a row and will now keep the trophy permanently.
Coming from Kiambu golf club, Karanga fired six under par 66 to steer the top to the top of the table with Nyali’s Adel Balala five under par 67, Captain John Lejirma from kenya railways with two under par 70 for a total of 23 under par 841 to take the title.
Just like last year, Uganda managed to secure second position with 875 points with Joseph Cwinyaai firing five under par 67, Joseph Akena’s one under par and Joseph Kasozi’s one over par 73.
Hosts Rwanda calimed bronze with a total of 899 in a tournament that attracted six nations with 24 players.
