Kenya Volleyball League: Kenya Ports shines in Eldama Ravine

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) dominated the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league played today in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.

The men’s team braved the rainy morning to register two consecutive wins ahead of national play offs set for Mombasa next.

With four hours delay before the matches kicked off, KPA won their opening match against Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in a thrilling five setter before adding the second win against Vihiga County in three straight sets.

In the first match, KPA come from two sets down (23-25 and 21-25) to beat the solid KDF who were the favourite in the match.

As KDF was taking all much needed points, KPA shocked the crowd by winning the third set in 25-19, leveling 2-2 in the fourth set at 25-21 and with KDF showing some signs of tiredness, KPA won the final set in 15-07.

In the second match, it was an easy walk in the park for the dockers who beat Vihinga County 3-0 (25-08, 25-19 and 25-19.

In another match, Kenya Prison won against Administration police by three straight sets of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-22.

In women’s side, Kenya Prison shone against Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in a longer 3-2 sets.

In an alternating formula, KCB won the first set 25-21 and Prisons taking the second by 25-15, KCB won the third in 25-20 before warders won the last two sets in 25-23 and 15-10.
