Getrude Mutai scored a solitary goal when Kenya’s Mutei FC defeated France’s Les Reines Du Foot at the ongoing Beka Grannies International Tournament in Limpopo, South Africa.
The match at the played in the chilly morning at the Nkowankowa Stadium was good for Kenyans side Mutei that recorded their third victories in the tournament.
This was the second goal for Mutai in tournament in the first half, rounding off an epic show in front of a charged crowed in the Tzaneen Municipality.
The team had an improved performance after losing their opening game 1-0 against South Africa’s Thulamahashe.
They went ahead to draw 1-1 against another South African outfit Glory Gogos and finished their group matches with a comfortable 2-0 win against Thembisa Gogos
This was Kenya’s debut in the tournament that entered its second edition.
In other results, USA’s New England beat Les Zamies Foot from France 5-4 through post match penalties to win the mouthwatering championship.
