Kenya’s Rising Stars started on a bad note, losing to Morocco in the first match of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) under 20 championships in Cairo, Egypt.
Despite scoring the opening goal in the pool B encounter, Rising Stars failed to hold on the the speedy Morocco side,, going down 3-2 at the final whistle
Lawrence Juma handed Salim Babu coached side a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute from header in the box but Yassir Zabiri leveled the score at 1-1 in the 45+2 minutes for the teams to go into the dressing rooms level.
On resumption, Zabiri scored in the 55th minute to give Morocco a 2-1 lead but Hassan Beja scored in the 71st minute for a 2-all draw.
As the match was headed for the final minutes El Haddad Laalaoui sealed a 3-2 win in the 78th minute.
