Olympian Nicholas Kipkorir Kimeli won the Rome Diamond League with the championships record held today in Rome, Italy.
Kimeli led compatriot Jacob Krop in a 1-2 podium finish when he won the 5,000m in 12:46.33, which was a meeting record as Krop was second timing 12:46.79 and Ethiopian Yumif Kejelcha completing the podium in 12:52.10.
Selemon Barega (12:54.87) was 4th as Ahmed Mohammed was 5th timing 12: 55.84 but Levy Kibet came in position 9 at 13:01.32.
In 3,000m steeplechase men, reigning Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Abraham Kibiwot (8:06.73) finished second behind the champion Lamecha Girma (7:59.23) as Getnet Wale (8:06.74) was third.
Conseslus Kipruto was 4th in 8:08.76 with world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Amos Serem (8:09.93) was 5th while Leonard Bet finished 8th timing 4:12.34.
In 800m, Mary Moraa was 4th after crossing the finish line in 1:59.26 behind winner Athing Mu (1:57.01), followed by Renelle Lamote (1:58.45) and Elena Bello in 1:58.97.
