Kipruto, Kibiwott and Bett set for Oregon finals in steeplechase

Reigning world 3,000m steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto will lead comptariots Abraham Kibiwot and Leopard Bett to the finals of the ongoing World Athletics championships in Oregon, USA.

The former Olympic 3,000m steeplechase champion finished second in Heat Two while Bett the former world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion and Kibiwott finished second and third in Heat One.

But the reigning Olympic Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Benjamin Kigen missed out when he finished 7th in Heat Three.

Kibiwott and Bett were first out on the track in Heat One, lining up alongside reigning Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco.

Bett timed 8:16:94 to come second while Kibiwott clocked 8:17.04. This was the quickest heat with the Olympic champion winning in 8:16.65.
