Kipyegon, Ejore and Chepchirchir qualify into 1,500m semifinal at Paris Olympic Games

Double Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon joined Susan Ejore and Nelly Jepchirchir into the semifinals of the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Fresh from winning 5,000m silver yesterday, Kipyegon will be hoping to win a hattrick of the 1,500m title after making it to the semifinals when she finished fourth at 4:00.74 behind Ethiopian Diribe Welteji (3:59.73) winning ahead of Georgia Bell of Great Britain (4:00.29) and American Nikki Hiltz (4:00.42).

Ejore qualified from heat one when she finished third behind Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay and Laura Muir of Great Britain after clocking 3:59.01 as Tsegay clocked 3:58.84 for the win followed by Muir in 3:58.91.

Chepchirchir was third in her heat after clocking 4:02.67.
