Kipyegon to battle Fraser-Pryce for World Athletics women athlete of the year

Double Olympic Games 1,500m champion Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon will be facing off with Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at the Women’s World Athlete of the Year awards.

Kipyegon won the 1,500m race at the World Championships in Oregon (3:52.96) and the final of the Diamond League meeting in Zurich (4:00.44). 

Kipyegon ran a world-leading Kenyan record of 3:50.37 (just three seconds off the world record) at the Monaco Diamond League Meeting. She also won the Prefontaine Classic in Oregon in 3:53.23.
